Export prices of most rice varieties in Thailand fell last week. In Thailand, the prices of the 5% and 25% broken white rice fell by $2 and $1 per tn to $408 and $392 per tn, respectively. The prices fell due to competitive prices from India. In June, 25% broken non-basmati rice from India was exported at $361 a tn, while from Thailand, it is sold at $441 a tn. Earlier this month, the US Department of Agriculture raised its forecast for India’s rice exports in 2017-18 to 11.0 mln tn from 10.5 mln tn projected in June.
