Sugar down in north India as ISMA ups output view.

Prices of sugar fell in the key wholesale markets of north India after Indian Sugar Mills Association raised its production forecast for the ongoing season. The association scaled up its estimate for the country’s sugar output in 2017-18 (Oct-Sep) to a record high of 29.5 mln tn from 26.1 mln tn pegged earlier. The upward revision in the forecast comes in the wake of a significant improvement in the cane yields in major producing states Karnataka and Maharashtra,
