Prices of maize rise in the benchmark market of Nizamabad as the government has started procuring the grain at the MSP. Although government has started procurement operations, it did not make any purchases as moisture content in the grain is 18-20%, against the desired 14%. The maize crop hasn’t been dried properly because of recent rains and cloudy weather. The quality of the crop is expected to start improving in 10-15 days.
