The government sold 63,700 tn wheat under the open market sales scheme, tenders for which closed 30 Nov. Of the total sales, 49,200 tn purchased by the governments of Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, and West Bengal. West Bengal government bought 20,500 tn, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir purchased 24,100 tn and 4,600 tn, respectively. Private players bought 9,850 tn wheat in Punjab, 1,800 tn in Haryana, and 2,850 tn in Chandigarh.
