Futures contracts of raw sugar hit a nine-month low of 12.76 cents per pound on the ICE as output of the sweetener in India during 2017-18 (Oct-Sep) is likely to be higher than estimated. Indian Sugar Mills Association raised its estimate for the country’s sugar output for the ongoing season to a record 29.5 MMT.
