Chana prices were down due to weak demand from domestic buyers.
In Indore, the benchmark market of Madhya Pradesh, chana was sold at 5,200 rupees per 100 kg, down 50-100 rupees. Arrivals were pegged slightly higher at 3,500 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), as against 3,000 bags.
As the supply increases gradually, prices are likely to fall further. Prices of the rabi chana crop are expected to remain in the range of 5,100-5,300 rupees in March.
